MILWAUKEE – The eighth annual Gary's Gallop 5k run/2-mile walk, a tribute to the late Wisconsin Lutheran College president Dr. Gary Greenfield, will be held Saturday, April 16 at WLC's Krauss-Miller-Lutz Outdoor Athletic Complex.

The race, which begins at 9:30 a.m. and attracts more than 400 participants annually, has a scenic course through Underwood Parkway and the WLC Outdoor Athletic Complex.

A Kids’ Corner, supervised by the WLC cheer squad, will be set up inside the track to entertain children during the adult race. Following the 5k race/2-mile walk, kids ages 12 and under can participate in a free kids' race at 10:30 a.m., where they will be invited to run around the track at Raabe Stadium.

The race registration fee includes a long-sleeve T-shirt (for 5k and 2-mile participants only), light breakfast and lunch, awards to the top male and female runners in each age division and overall male and female winner, and a tax-deductible gift to the college's athletics booster organization, the Warrior Club.

Participants can register online or by mail at $10 for WLC students and $15 for all other participants. Mailed registrations will be accepted through Tuesday, April 12. Online registration will be available until Thursday, April 14. Walk-up registrations will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. on race day for $20.
