MILWAUKEE – For the ninth consecutive year, U.S.News & World Report rated Wisconsin Lutheran College as one of America's Best Colleges. Wisconsin Lutheran College was ranked no. 183 in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges.

For 2011, the magazine displayed numerical rankings for the top 189 national liberal arts colleges. Institutions ranked 190 through 250 were listed in the second tier. Schools in the liberal arts classification emphasize undergraduate education. To be included, colleges must award at least half of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. Factors considered in the ranking include academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and graduation rate performance.

"We are thrilled to be included in the top tier of the ranked list of our nation's best liberal arts colleges by U.S.News & World Report," said Dr. Daniel W. Johnson, Wisconsin Lutheran College president.

"We’re also pleased to report that we are experiencing a record enrollment, as well as a record class of incoming freshmen, this fall," announced President Johnson. "As our institution continues to grow, we remain committed to maintaining our standard of academic excellence and to graduating well-prepared Christian leaders. Those are priorities for which we also want to be known."

In addition, Forbes.com recently released its 2010 list of America's Best Colleges, compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP). The CCAP ranked 610 undergraduate institutions based on the quality of the education they provide, the experience of their students, and how much their graduates achieve. Wisconsin Lutheran College was rated no. 238 on the Forbes.com list.
