WLC welcomes Shidara's powerful percussion performance

MILWAUKEE – Shidara's powerful, energetic Taiko drumming performance comes to Wisconsin Lutheran College Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
From the forests and mountains of Japan comes Shidara, recognized as one of the foremost Japanese drum companies in the world. Taiko, the unmatched percussive form that is a centuries-old tradition, showcases a rigor and discipline of drumming. With extraordinary strength and training, these artists train for years to bring precision, incomparable ensemble work and incredible passion to their work. Blending masterful skill, blinding energy and break-neck speed, Shidara delivers a thunderous and powerful energy, sweeping the audience away to another place and time.
Shidara is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Waterstone Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W.
