Marvin M. Schwan Library Policies and Procedures
Patrons must have a valid
Warrior OneCard
or id card from a SWITCH library to checkout materials.
Patrons are responsible for all materials checked out in their name. Fines are applied to items not returned on time.
Patrons can view their library records at
My Library Account
.
Most library materials are loaned for 28 days with the option to renew them 2 more times for another 28 days. DVDs/CDs and interlibrary loans from other libraries have shorter loan periods and may not be renewable. Items on hold for another patron cannot be renewed.
Notebook computers, digital cameras & camcorders, and items from Reserves check out for overnight and cannot be renewed. A fine of $1 per hour is charged for these items if they are returned late.
Overdue notices are sent to a patron's e-mail address as a courtesy reminder and non-receipt of a notice does not exempt the patron from overdue penalties. Notices are sent twice before patron is billed $50 or more per item for replacement plus $10 non-refundable billing fee per item. If overdue items are returned 10 days or more after due date, the patron will still owe $10 per item for billing fees but the $50 replacement fee will be removed.
No tobacco products are allowed in the library building including the lower classroom level.
The upper floor of the library is a quiet place to study. Please be considerate of others and keep conversations to a minimum.
Library hours are posted at the library entrance and on the
library's web page
.
Computer access from desktops and personal computers is available throughout the library building via wireless or wired connections and all desktops and notebook/laptops have software used in classes such as Maple, SPSS, Inspiration, Dasher etc.
