ELI Application Requirements

An applicant must choose what type of prospective student they are, and submit the appropriate admission requirements as stated below.

Which type of student are you?

If available, submit these documents with your application:

  • Official report from all English Language Programs attended
  • Official test scores: TEOFL, IELTS, or other English proficiency test

All required documents need to be submitted two weeks before the start date of each session. Prospective students whose application file is incomplete within two weeks before the session start date will be required to enroll in the following session.


New Student – English Study Only

Students applying for English study ONLY must follow these steps.

  1. Complete online application Apply Now!
  2. Financial Documents
    • Original bank statement AND Letter of Financial Support (If the financial sponsor is NOT the student, the sponsor is required to submit a letter of support stating they will fund the student applying to the ELI.)

      OR
    • Financial Guarantee letter from a third party sponsor addressed to Wisconsin Lutheran College (This is applicable to students sponsored by the Saudi Arabia Cultural Mission.)

    According to the U.S. government, an individual applying to the ELI must provide proof of funding for $31,000 USD in order to be approved for a student visa. This amount includes tuition, cost of housing & food, and other miscellaneous fees associated with studying in the ELI.


Transfer English Language Student

Students transferring from another English language program in the United States must follow these steps.

  1. Complete online application Apply Now!
  2. Financial Documents
    • Original bank statement AND Letter of Financial Support
      (If the financial sponsor is NOT the student, the sponsor is required to submit a letter of support stating they will fund the student applying to the ELI.)

      OR

  4. MSOE conditional acceptance letter AND a copy of MSOE application (if student plans to enroll at MSOE after completion of ELI program)
  5. Official report from previous English language program

MSOE Conditionally Accepted Students

Students who intend to enroll at MSOE after completion of the ELI program must take these steps.

  1. Complete online application Apply Now!
