MEQUON – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s golf team wrapped-up their 2007 fall season by placing fifth of five teams at the Northern Athletics Conference Championship held at the Mequon Country Club that concluded Saturday.
The Warriors were led by senior Rachael Schuman’s (Paris, Ill./Paris) 14th-place finish, after she carded rounds of 112 and 109, respectively. Chelsie Lepke (Chaseburg, Wis./Luther) shot a 101 on day two, tops among all WLC golfers at the championship.
Wisconsin Lutheran combined to shoot a team score of 981, behind Marian (956), MSOE (934), Concordia-Wisconsin (840) and Aurora (788). Benedictine, Edgewood and Lakeland also competed at the championship, but did not have enough players to qualify for a team score.
Aurora University repeated as the overall team champion. Aurora’s Kristen Richardson clamed medalist honors after shooting rounds of 84 and 89, respectively. She was named NAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the championship.
Wisconsin Lutheran did not have any of its golfers selected to the All-NAC team.

FOND DU LAC – Rachael Schuman (Paris, Ill./Paris) finish fourth overall to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s golf team on Tuesday at the Marian College Invitational held at Whispering Springs.
Schuman carded a one round score of 107 on the par 72 course to lead the Warriors, who did not have enough golfers compete to register a team score on the day.
Nikki Commons of Lakeland College was awarded the invite medalist after she shot a round of 94. Concordia University Wisconsin won the overall team title by shooting a combined team stroke total of 433.
Wisconsin Lutheran will conclude its 2007 fall season this weekend when it competes in the NAC Championship. The two-day championship begins on Friday and wraps-up Saturday at the Mequon Country Club in Mequon.
