KOHLER – Danny Behm (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Year for the second straight season after he earned medalist honors at the NAC Championship which concluded Tuesday at Whistling Straits Irish Course.

Behm, a junior, carded rounds of 78 and 76, respectively, on the par 72 course to finish the championship at +10 (154), two strokes ahead of runner-up Sam Meyers of MSOE.

The accolade marks the first time that Behm, who carded a 158 on the same course at last year’s championship, has been named medalist of an event during the fall conference season.

“It’s always a great honor to be named medalist, especially at conference,” said head coach Roger Fleming, who has coached the men’s golf team for the past 30 years.

In the team standings, WLC placed sixth out of nine with a total of 689. Jeremy Wrasse (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) (180), Kyle Madson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) (180), Andrew Baxter (Oregon, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) (181) and Jordan Liesener (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) (182) rounded out the rest of the scoring for the Warriors.

MSOE, who is in its inaugural season as a member of the NAC, won the overall team title by shooting a combined team stroke total of 645.

The Warriors are off until their spring season kicks-off on March 29 and 30 when they compete in the Webster University Invitational in St. Louis, Mo.

Behm notches another NAC men’s golf weekly honor

October 8, 2007

VERONA – The Northern Athletics Conference has announced that Danny Behm (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) has been named the men’s golf Student-Athlete of the Week.

Behm, who has received the honor for the fourth time in five weeks, has been the only NAC men’s golfer to receive the weekly honor this fall.

Behm continued his impressive play on the links by tying for third place at the Benedictine Invitational this past weekend. He carded consecutive round scores of 72 on the par 70 course to finish at +4. He was the top NAC finisher at the event, marking the fourth time this season that Behm has finished in the top five at an event. The Warriors placed eight out of 15 teams at the invite.

Wisconsin Lutheran will conclude its 2007 fall season when it competes in the Northern Athletics Conference Championship on Oct. 15-16 at Whistling Straits Irish Course in Kohler.
