Path Fund - Providing Alumni of Tomorrow with Hope
For some Wisconsin Lutheran College students, the path to a college degree is rough and sometimes tinged with tragedy. Due to a personal family issue or a health crisis, students can't afford to return to school. Mounting medical or legal bills put them between a rock and a hard place. They long to return to WLC, but can’t find a way.
And as hard as it is, the director of financial aid, Linda Loeffel, often has to tell them that there is nothing she can do. Their financial dilemma is real, but if they don’t meet government requirements for additional aid and our institutional funds are already awarded, her hands are tied.
But that has now changed. WLC alumna Sharon A. Schoeneck '89 heard about a few students who might not be able to return to school and stepped in to help. Thanks to her generous gift, several students who had recently encountered family emergencies avoided a detour on their path to a WLC degree. These students will soon join the ranks of alumni of the college.
Sharon's gift was so inspiring a fund was established in 2006 specifically for current undergraduates who find themselves going through a tragic situation that impacts their ability to return to WLC. It’s called the PATH Fund – Providing Alumni of Tomorrow with Hope – and it’s a way you can help.
With your gift – whether large or small – you can directly offer a helping hand to a student who wants to finish her degree at WLC. You can change the life of a Warrior going through a crisis that could force him to quit school. You can make a difference – right now, today.
This is your chance to give back by supporting a student going through a crisis. While the rough patches on the path to a college degree can’t be predicted, your gift to the PATH Fund can help some deserving students surmount serious obstacles. Give today!
