Put everything into your work, lead through service.
- Jacob Werre

  • Jacob Werre came into Wisconsin Lutheran College unsure of what to major in, and took an interesting path before finding his passion. As a sophomore, he developed an interest in history, and considered a double major in history and education. He took a job through the campus history department working on and managing its website called Fourth Century Christianity. The work experience sparked his interest in communications and web design, which he quickly felt was a much better fit for him.

Jacob now works as an Associate Account Executive for The Ritterbusch Group, where he interned for one year during college after being connected with the company’s president through a WLC staff member. Jacob’s job responsibilities include web design, online advertising, SEO, social media, design, and more.

He loves to exceed his clients’ expectations, and experiences great fulfillment when a project is very successful. Jacob specifically pointed out web design projects as being particularly rewarding, saying “after spending so many hours on a website project and it finally goes live, that’s great.”

In 2016, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honored Jacob as one of Milwaukee's Finest young professionals. Honorees show exemplary leadership, are active in their community, and have excelled in their profession or business.

Jacob’s main goal for himself is simple: to never stop learning. He’s grateful to work in a place where he has many mentors and experienced coworkers, and looks forward to all the learning opportunities available. He also looks back at all the learning experiences he had at WLC and encourages students to take advantage of everything available to them, particularly internships. He also emphasizes the importance of a good work ethic and servant leadership, carrying those traits with him to work each day.
