2014 PAC-Alex

Major: Undecided (probably Biology)

What I like most about WLC: the people. Every single person I have met has been super nice. Just being able to walk around campus and receive smiles from students or professors I don't even know is really great.

At WLC I participate in: the WLC Art Club, Performing Arts Club, and Improv Troupe. I hope to be on the dance team in the winter, as well as participate in intramural soccer.

Advice to a high school senior: I think the most important thing to remember when looking at colleges is that nothing is set in stone. Before I made the fantastic decision to come to WLC, I had "officially decided" on two other schools prior, during my senior year. I changed my mind. A lot. But that was okay! Just remember that it is okay to change your mind about school regardless of what others might think.

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: Since I am from Colorado, I haven't done much in Milwaukee yet, but I think the city is beautiful and I can't wait to go to the Art Museum, the Milwaukee County Zoo, and walk around downtown.

At WLC I participate in: I am involved in SNA (Student Nurses' Association), Coffee Shop (spend an hour each week at the mental health hospital), and Ambassador Club.

Advice to a high school senior: Get out there and tour schools! See what school you feel comfortable at and could call home for the next four years.

Favorite place on campus: our lovely chapel.

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: go to Brewers games at Miller Park.

Major: Psychology and Visual Art

What I like most about WLC: all of the opportunities during the week to be involved with worship, such as chapel and the Wednesday night vespers service. I love all of the wonderful music that is created and the relationships you create with fellow Christians around you.

At WLC I participate in: Minor Adjustments (the women's a capella group), Performing Arts club (we go to shows such as Broadway plays, comedy shows, operas and the ballet), Psychology Club, and Ambassador Club.

Advice to a high school senior: bring a planner to college. I have one that I use every day to stay organized. My whole day, including all of my classes, club meetings, meal times, free time, and naps are all scheduled in.

Favorite thing to do on campus: the Warrior Underground (WU) and Brewhaus. It is a great place to study, hang out with friends, and get a frappe!

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: going to local parks or the Milwaukee County Zoo. A lot of great drawing and sketching can be done for Art class there and we get to go for free!

At WLC I participate in: I am part of the Peer Admissions Counselors, tennis, and the Creative Writing Club.

Advice to a high school senior: Don't bring too much stuff your first year, only bring the essentials, and if you are unsure if you need it or not, just ask.

Favorite place on campus: Center for Arts and Performance.

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: I love going to the Milwaukee Zoo and the Milwaukee Art Museum!

Faith
2014 PAC-Faith

Major: Biology (pre-Physical Therapy)

What I like most about WLC: Vespers, because it's during the middle of the week, so it's a perfect time for reflection of your first couple days and to ask God to guide the rest of your week.

At WLC I participate in: Honors Program and extreme sports fan.

Advice to a high school senior: Go to college where you want to go, not because that's the school all of your friends are going.

Favorite place on campus: Generac Hall, because that's where I spend most of my time doing awesome biology experiments.

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: Go to Yo Mama's, because froyo (frozen yogurt) is the best!!

Major: Elementary Education Major, Spanish Education Minor

What I like most about WLC: the professors. They are truly concerned with your success and are willing to help in any way that they can. It's super easy to get to know them all on a personal level.

At WLC I participate in: FTEA, CfUT, Bruce Guadalupe Character Builders, and the Ambassador Club.

Advice to a high school senior: The best advice that I can give is to not freak out and to be yourself!

Favorite place on campus: the new apartment building. The building is beautiful and the rooms are amazing. I feel so grown up!

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: Visit Discovery World. It's a super cool museum that is all interactive and has sting rays that you can pet! They also offer student discounts if you show your school ID.

Katie
2014 PAC-Katie

Major: Elementary Education

What I like most about WLC: the small campus and Christian atmosphere.

At WLC I participate in: Future Teacher's Educators Association, Ultimate Frisbee Organization, PAC.

Advice to a high school senior: Come visit and talk with a professor. It definitely helps you get a feel for the school and gives you some insight into the academic area you are interested in.

Favorite place on campus: Warrior Underground (the WU).

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: going different places around the city with my friends.

Kenya
2014 PAC-Kenya

Major: Nursing

What I like most about WLC: I love the close-knit environment here.

At WLC I participate in: Peer Admissions Counselors (PAC).

Advice to a high school senior: To stay focused and always know how to balance out your schedule because time flies by without you knowing.

Favorite place on campus: the Courtyard Café because it's always full of people to meet.

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: I love to go to Mayfair mall and enjoy food, shopping and the company of friends.

Laura
2014 PAC-Laura

Major: Undecided

What I like most about WLC: I love how kind all of the students and professors are. I also love that there is always something fun to do on campus and my opportunities here are endless.

At WLC I participate in: Apart from being a Peer Admissions Counselor, I also am a member of the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir and take part in weekly voice lessons. I am involved in the Fine Arts Program and am also a Resident Representative for my floor. I am a new student here at WLC so I am still exploring all the different activities that this college has to offer.

Advice to a high school senior: When choosing a college, don't let the price tag scare you. The way I see it, you only get one college experience and you should do all you can to make it a positive one! No matter what, the Lord will provide!

Favorite place on campus: The Black Box Theatre, because though I have just begun my college experience, I have already had so many laughs in that room!

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: I love going to Brewers games! WLC gives its students so many opportunities to support Wisconsin's beloved baseball team, and I go whenever I can!

Lauren
2014 PAC-Lauren

Major: Psychology

At WLC I participate in: Cross country, Choir, Art Club, Psych Club, and WLC Praise Band.

Advice to a high school senior: There's a lot of pressure to go to the perfect college and get a degree that will make you a lot of money and make your family proud. But don't forget about your God-given talents! Consider His plan before your own. Choose a school that can both fine-tune your abilities and also build you up as a strong Christian adult. The world needs more of those!

Favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus right now is my new apartment. The sophomores are living in style this year!

Favorite thing to do in Milwaukee: run by the lakefront. It's just so beautiful on Lake Michigan! And if I'm not running, I'm checking out the museums on Lake Drive.

Quan
2014 PAC-Quan

Major: Communicative Arts

What I like most about WLC: The community is great! People are really nice and friendly and willing to help.

At WLC I participate in: So far, I am just on the Peer Admissions Counselor team but I am considering participating in more events and clubs like Ambassador Club and International Club.

Advice to a high school senior: It is totally different than high school, and it does take more time to get used to. Get calm and be shocked! But you will figure things out sooner than you think.

Favorite place on campus: Warrior Underground: It is where those special and "crazy" events are held most of the nights. It is a great place to make friends and meet people.
