Spanish Department
A liberal arts minor in Spanish greatly enhances career preparation in a wide variety of fields. Spanish is a valuable support tool in education, administration, all the health and social service fields, business, banking, and especially in service and product sales and marketing.
A teaching major in Spanish provides the essential skills and knowledge to satisfy the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for a license to teach Spanish.

Distinctiveness
A unique aspect of Spanish at Wisconsin Lutheran is a 10 week study abroad program in Monterey, Mexico. While studying at the university there, students have an opportunity to work with the WELS mission in Monterey, which may include teaching vacation Bible school to Mexican children at the mission. In addition there are many opportunities in Milwaukee for working with Hispanics, especially with southside ministries. There are also job opportunities for majors/minors in the Language Lab.
