Levi Nagel, '04 music
Minister of worship and youth at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia
I wanted to attend WLC because of the high standards they demand along with the faith-based curriculum. I knew that by going there, I would be prepared to make a good living while serving Christ; however, I was unsure if I could afford it. After meeting with financial aid and finding out about all the scholarship opportunities, I was surprised at how affordable it really was.
I always knew I was supposed to be a music major. I was especially impressed by the music department's vast array of disciplines as well as the accomplishments of its professors and adjunct faculty. The WLC music department not only taught me a lot about music and performance, but more importantly, how to effectively keep on learning.
I have continued to grow in musical knowledge and performance skills well after I graduated. What the faculty teaches helps students grow professionally beyond what facts they can teach in four years. I am currently working on my master's degree in church music at Concordia University, Wisconsin, and I am the minister of worship and youth at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia. I feel that the WLC music department has effectively prepared me for a life of Christian leadership.
