  • I have authored three books: Soldiers, Settlers and Sioux: Fort Ridgely and the Settlement of the Minnesota River Valley, The First Sioux War: The Grattan Fight and Blue Water Creek, 1854-1856 and Inkpaduta: Dakota Leader. I am currently working on a fourth book dealing with the US Army’s punitive expeditions against the Sioux during the Civil War.
