Current Responsibilities

I find clinical work placements for our education students for the various methods courses they take throughout their college career, and I find student teaching or internship placements for them as they finish their college careers. Also, part of my job as placement coordinator is to develop relationships with new schools and new teachers for added placement possibilities.

In addition to my placement work, I help our Education Department keep in touch with EDU graduates through the Lifeline Assistance Program (LAP). LAP seeks to help our graduates with questions about their Professional Development Plan (PDP) for continuing licensure as well as with any other questions that beginning teachers may have.

Related to my work as placement coordinator, I also serve our students as the contact person for volunteer and paid job opportunities related to the field of education. People who need student workers contact me, and I broadcast the opportunities to our students.

As need arises and time permits, I also supervise clinical students and student teachers in the field and from time to time, I teach an EDU department class.

Publications

I have had articles published in the "Forward in Christ" and "Lutheran Parent" magazines. I wrote a quarter of the 5-6 grade "Christ Light" Bible History Series Teachers' Guide; AAL Calendar highlighting Christian Symbols; Teachers' Guide for WELS history book; Wrote one chapter of the WELS Principals' Handbook "Making the Pieces Fit" (Chapter 4 - School Management); and I have written a devotion book for Christian School Administrators.
