Kate Jaeger gets involved in America's favorite pastime

Kate Jaeger, class of 2006, has been a part of the Brewers family since March 2005 as one of the famous racing sausages.  She has had the opportunity to race against and meet several high profile people such as Gary Miller, Mark Grace and Jovan Walker.

But her job entails more than that.  She also has responsibilities such as escorting the players to Friday autograph sessions, and seeing those who sing the national anthem and junior announcers to the press box.  She takes part in t-shirt tosses, polka on the dug-out and furnishing the party section with prizes and balloons.  She helps distribute in-game promotions and supervises the terrace playground.  Jaeger says, "Being behind the scenes is different from being in the crowd."

Through an internship with WTMJ 4 promotions in the summer of 2005, she was able to sit in the Brewers press box and take part in interviewing the professional athletes.  She also attended concerts with backstage access and worked all the festivals that summer.

Being a resident assistant, Jaeger has especially taken her communication and conflict course to heart when dealing with mediating between residents.  She explains, "Taking communication classes was useful.  Everyone has to communicate."
