The social sciences deal in systematic, rational, and empirical ways with human nature, thoughts and feelings, behavior, relationships, and the factors that affect and influence people.

As an interdisciplinary major, a broad approach to studying the social sciences affords the student with the opportunity to examine various interrelated perspectives on the human experience. At Wisconsin Lutheran College, broad field study in the social sciences can include study in the following disciplines: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.
