Art Major

The Art Major consists of a minimum of 40 credits including:

  1. Art Foundations (12 cr): ART 101, 102, 121, and 122.

  2. Art Appreciation (9 cr): ART 211, 212 and either ART 213, 306, 307, or 400.

  3. Art Studio (15 cr): At least 6 credits must be in either 2-D or 3-D studio studies.

  4. Portfolio (1 cr): ART 497.

  5. Cultural Enrichment (3 cr): One or more courses in a fine arts discipline outside the art major, including music, theatre, film, or dance.

Art Minor

The Art Minor consists of a minimum of 24 credits including:

  1. Art Foundations (12 cr): ART 101, 102, 121, and 122.

  2. Art Appreciation (3 cr): ART 211 or 212.

  3. Art Studio (6 cr): in either 2-D or 3-D.

  4. Cultural Enrichment (3 cr): One or more courses in a fine arts discipline outside the art major, including music, theatre, film, or dance.

All Art Majors and Minors must:

  1. Attend at least two cultural events per year.

  2. Attend at least two visual art events per year.

  3. Assist with at least one college art program or event per year.

All majors in art are required to exhibit selected works from their studies under the review and approval of art department faculty.
