Alumni Volunteer Opportunities
The Alumni Board coordinates an annual note writing campaign from alumni to prospective students. The handwritten notes mean a great deal to the prospective student and often serve as the encouragement they needed to enroll at WLC. The goal is to send a note to every admitted student. If you're willing to help, you'll be mailed a packet with 10-20 pre-addressed stamped envelopes and note cards, along with some sample text. Simply follow the text or make it your own, and drop the cards in the mail.
In addition, the Alumni Board is seeking table hosts to greet and converse with prospective students and their families over a meal at the President's Welcome Luncheon. The 2020 date is Saturday, March 28, and the commitment is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is one of the most important events WLC hosts for prospective students. Meeting and having the opportunity to talk with alumni is one of the ways WLC differentiates itself as an institution. Every attempt is made to match alums up with students who have similar interests or backgrounds.
