WLC Ranked as a Top College and Best Value

MILWAUKEE -  For 2020, U.S. News & World Report rates Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) as one of the Top 20 Regional Colleges in the Midwest. Schools in the Best Regional Colleges category focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts and in fields such as business, nursing, and education.

WLC received other accolades from the U.S. News 2020 Best College rankings, including moving up a notch from last year to 12th in the list of Best Value Schools within the category of Regional Colleges in the Midwest. WLC also was recognized as one of the Top Performers on Social Mobility (how well schools graduated students who received Pell Grants) and Best Colleges for Veterans.

“The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings are considered the gold standard, and being a consistently ranked college is an honor we don't take lightly,” said Dr. Daniel W. Johnson, President of Wisconsin Lutheran College. “Our faculty and staff are unwavering in their commitment to providing exceptional academic and life-changing experiences that lead to lives of Christian leadership.” 

In other rankings that were released recently:

  • WLC is listed on the 2019 list of America's Top Colleges, compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. 

  • In 2019, WLC is ranked 67th in the nation by Washington Monthly in the category of Baccalaureate Colleges, up from 123rd in 2018. The publication also included WLC in its 2019 list of Best Bang for the Buck Colleges; WLC is 54th on a list of 372 ranked schools in the Midwest. 

  • WLC is included in the list of Best Colleges for Your Money 2019, published by MONEY Magazine. More than 700 schools were included in the rankings, which combine educational quality, affordability, and alumni success.

  • According to Niche, WLC is rated as one of the 100 Best Christian Colleges in the country, and WLC's residence halls are ranked 19th in the nation and 1st in the state for 2020.
