"It Starts with You!"
Wisconsin Lutheran College invites area college students to attend the 2018 Student Leadership Conference Conference. This half-day event will include sessions on developing your leadership skills as well as networking opportunities.
Have you found yourself thinking about your desire to lead and make an impact on others but wonder where do you start? You start with you! Why? If you can't lead yourself, how can you lead others? The 2018 “It Starts with You” Student Leadership Conference focuses on the premise that leading yourself is the foundation for being a successful leader. Leading yourself requires you to invest in developing your personal leadership practices, and by attending this conference hosted by the Wisconsin Lutheran College Center for Christian Leadership, you can begin "developing you" through the following conference sessions:
SESSION I: KNOW YOURSELF
Author, Speaker, and General Manager, Wisconsin Athletic Club
Who are you as a child of God and what do you stand for? What are your values? What are your goals? Uncovering and discovering key attributes about you is a key to your leadership path and your ability to lead and influence others. This session will help you take a deeper look “at you” and create the foundation for your leadership aspirations.
SESSION II: KNOW OTHERS
Assistant Professor of Business Administration, Wisconsin Lutheran College
There are numerous books, articles, and speeches given each year to teach people to be good leaders, yet often overlooked are those who ultimately determine a leader's success: the follower. A key to being a great leader is understanding those you are leading. Since all leaders start as followers and continue in that role long after assuming a leadership position, understanding "followership” is as critical as understanding leadership. Prof. Kudek's session will explore this key to successful leadership.
SESSION III: KNOW SUCCESS
President and CEO, Tempo Milwaukee
We live in a world where everything is measured. Leadership isn't any different, but how do we measure success when it comes to leadership? This session will explore characteristics of successful leaders as well as strategies you can use to measure your leadership impact on others.
