MILWAUKEE, WI - In August, Wisconsin Lutheran College will welcome new and returning undergraduates to campus. On Friday, August 25, WLC kicks off its annual Warrior Orientation & Welcome (WOW) Weekend, a program designed to help new students prepare for a successful college career. All new students are expected to attend WOW Weekend activities; the complete schedule is available online.
RESIDENT STUDENTS: New resident students should move into their residence halls between 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. on August 25. Students will pick up their room keys and orientation packets in the lobby of their assigned residence hall. After dropping off their students' belongings, parents should move their vehicles to the Parking Center on Wisconsin Avenue. WOW volunteers will direct you.
COMMUTER STUDENTS: On August 25, commuters should park in the Parking Center, then check in between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. in the Warrior Underground to pick up their orientation packets and meet fellow commuters.
PARENTS: Parent orientation will be held August 25 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Center for Arts and Performance - Schwan Concert Hall. Parents are invited to stay for lunch and the Opening Worship Service.
TRANSFER STUDENTS: Orientation for transfer students takes place on Saturday, August 26. The transfer student orientation schedule is available online.
ATHLETICS MOVE-IN SCHEDULE: Most student-athletes who participate in fall sports will return to campus prior to WOW Weekend. View the move-in and parent orientation schedules for new fall-sport athletes. New student-athletes will take part in WOW Weekend activities. Parents of new student-athletes are not required to return for WOW Weekend parent activities but are welcome to do so.
OPENING WORSHIP SERVICE: On August 25, the WLC campus will come together for the 2017-2018 Opening Worship Service. Parents, new and returning students, faculty and staff, and the public are invited to the service, which begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Recreation Complex - Time of Grace Center. On this move-in day, casual attire is appropriate. Schwan's ice cream treats will be served outdoors after the service as parents say their good-byes. The freshman orientation program begins at 4 p.m.
